What about a small 1/16 " piece of scissors inside the cylinder which prevents the good key from going all the way in. I shorten the key enough to get the door open and remove the lock set. Now what , remove the cylinder and the piece of scissors tip ? Very interesting web site. Thank you

When I was in the Infantry, we had to learn to strip and assemble our Rifle, handgun, and submachine gun blindfolded. But we are using the same parts re assembling, not looking to change parts out like a rekey. That's a lot better than I could have done. I'm surprised that first pin even went in. You need to add some pin identification on your pin tray. Original Kwikset may be easier with pins tappered both sides. I'm tempted to give this a go using the same pins I take out.

Wow way to go you did pretty good on that to not be able to see and doing it all by touch. It’s amazing what you can do when you can’t see as a locksmith because you get so used to using your field of touch to do things I kind of agree with you once you set everything up, you could be able to do it successfully, but I have confidence in you that you can.
